Just another Dr. Martens Style Look…
By this time, you might already know that I love my Dr. Martens 1460’s. Why wouldn’t I?! The styling possibilities are endless! Lately I’ve been obsessed with wearing Skater Socks
with my Docs. I’ve purchased several different colors, all in the mid-calf length. I’m in the process of photographing all of the pairs I’ve purchased with different styling ideas, but in the meantime, check out this look I’ve created for Spring. Shorts, Dr. Martens, and Skater Socks? Oh my! <3
Skater Socks are available in sooo many colors and lengths. Dear gawd, I’m obsessed. Let’s please appreciate the fact that they’re also made in the USA. *claps* *hands up in praise* You can check out all of the colors and lengths here:
The skull sweater I’m wearing is made by ModCloth, but I noticed that they no longer sell this particular one anymore. I purchased it probably a couple of years ago. I found two almost exactly like the one I’m wearing as well as ones that are similar to help you recreate this look:
Paper Moon Skull Sweater in Grey and Black
And of course, a link to the most affordable and best place to buy your authentic Dr. Martens 1460’s..
And if you haven’t already checked it out, see my post about buying these babies online.
I’m pretty in love with 90’s fashion. 90’s grunge in particlar really inspires a lot of the looks I try to create. This photo edit reminds me of the 90’s and that makes me happy.
That One Pair of Pants…
You know that one pair of pants you own that you really love? You think they look great with everything, they’re comfortable, and you can even count on them to keep you warm in cold weather? If you don’t own a pair of pants that you feel that way about, ummm.. you kinda totally should, you weirdo.
This pant is that pair that I feel that way about this fall. As you might already know, I’m almost strictly an online shopper, so when I purchased this item online, I didn’t read the description as clearly as I thought I did. When they arrived, I was surprised to find out that they were a pant and not a legging. I adore leggings (ahem, see previous post), so intially I was kinda disappointed (and cursing myself that I didn’t read the item description more thoroughly). But then I tried these babies on. Pfft, screw them not being a legging. Not only did I love the look of them on me, they were comfortably thick. With the fall season beginning and winter to soon follow, I was stoked thinking about how great these pants will be at looking great and keeping me warm and fuzzy.
I purchased this pant in a medium size at ModCloth.com. They’re called the “Rockin’ Around Pants” and you can find them here. They’re currently out of stock in all sizes and there’s no telling when and if ModCloth will restock them. If you’re feening for a pair similar to this as far as fit and plaid print goes, I did a little searching and found these following badass pairs that I think you’ll love:
Fashion MIC Women’s Skinny HoundsTooth Plaid Pants
Hot Topic Royal Bones Split Leg Plaid Skinny Pants
[BLANKNYC] Womens Plaid Jean, Tartin Martin, 25
Sanctuary Clothing Women’s Plaid Grease Legging Pant
Here are just a few ways I styled that one pair of pants. These are gonna look effing cute with winter jackets and accessories.
Top: Tarman tee by Fright Rags (it comes in a women’s and men’s fit tee, I just cut mine into a tank).
Shoes: Shiekh Womens Meow-S Casual Flat – Black Size 5.5
Or you can try T.U.K. Women’s A8542L Ballet Flat.
Necklace by the incredible IamSkullsNBones. Check out her Etsy shop for unique, handmade gothic jewelry. I love her jewelry so much, I’ll be writing a post just on her jewelry soon.
My usual favorite shoes to wear: Dr. Martens Women’s 1460 Originals Eight-Eye Lace-Up Boot
And if you haven’t already checked it out, see my post about buying these babies online.
Oh leggings, oh leggings!
Dear leggings, I adore you!
You’re so comfortable. You’re like a second skin.
Your styling possibilities are endless. Whether you’re solid in color, printed, or patterened, you offer sleekness, a pop of color, dimension, baddassery, etc. I simply love you, leggings!
My personal favorite way to style most of my leggings is to pair them with my Dr. Martens Women’s 1460 Originals 8 Eye Lace Up Boot. Obviously, I’m pretty in love with my Docs. If you haven’t ever tried any on and you’re interested in purchasing a pair, check out my post about finding your size when buying online, finding them for the best price, style ideas, and more.
I’m wearing some incredible skeleton print leggings that I found on HotTopic.com. Unfortunately, I don’t see them in stock anymore!! I think their summer clearance prices wiped these babies out. But, I’ve purchased leggings from both RedExtend and Pink Wind and the quality and price are pretty awesome and the prints are beautiful! Check out their collections here:
RedExtend Women’s Digital Print Skeleton Bone Skull Tight Stretch Leggings
Women Galaxy Digital Print Thick Stretch Leggings
Jewelry: Forever 21
Dress: Asos
Who doesn’t love zombies these days?! You can’t go wrong with rotting, walking corpses who want nothing more than to eat brains. I mean, it doesn’t get more cute and cuddly than that, right?
I absolutely LOVE this zombie print legging by LoveLiness!!
The colors, the design of the zombie heads, the sheen! They’re only $15, too.
And last but not least to be featured.. My favorite Nightmare leggings! Jack on one leg and Sally on the other? Yes, please!! I bought these leggings on HotTopic.com and after reviewing their site just now, I see that they’re no longer there either!!! Check these out as an alternative, but otherwise, keep checking back with Hot Topic. I hope they restock these soon, I want to buy another pair as a gift.
Happy legging shopping, beauties. <3 <3 <3
Boyfriend Jeans <3
We all know Fall means cooler weather and cooler weather means I’m pullin’ out my jeans and sweaters. When it comes to pants, I really only own skinny jeans and leggings. But I knew when I saw boyfriend jeans that I had to switch up my pants game and get some.
You might already know that I’m a sucker for Express, especially their jeans. So when I saw that Express was selling a boyfriend jean, I knew immediately I’d cave into trying theirs. Glad I did. They’re freakin’ amazing. They have four different washes and styles, all varying slightly in fit. While I consistently wear a size 4 in Express jeans, I actually purchased their Ankle Rolled Boyfriend Jean in a size 2. Yes, boyfriend jeans are supposed to be a loose, baggy fit, but I found that my regular size was just too loose for my personal comfort. If you happen to go with Express, I recommend sizing down in these if you want to get the same fit as I’m featuring.
I’m in love with the versatility of boyfriend jeans. You can dress them up for a polished look or dress them down for a relaxed look. While I didn’t get too dressy with my style ideas, they do look so lovely with heels and a blazer. My personal favorite look though is wearing them with my Dr. Martens Women’s 1460 Originals 8 Eye Lace Up Boot (You can also check this post for other Doc styling ideas!)
Check it out, beauties.

And here’s just a few of my favorite celebrity boyfriend jean style ideas. How do you wear your boyfriend jeans?
Hairdo Clip-In Bangs Review
So lately I keep contemplating getting bangs. Shoot, I actually had them up until 11th grade, but that was ages ago! But they weren’t the whole modern, pretty, Zooey Deschanel type bangs. They were the whole “I have no idea what to do with my hair and I don’t currr” type bangs. They were not cute, y’all.
While I keep debating on whether or not I want to take the plunge, I decided to do a little research on some clip-in bangs. I didn’t want to spend much money on a clip-in, all I wanted was one that looked decent and would give me a good idea on whether my plain ol’ hair might be seeing a change in its near future.
Along came Hairdo by Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves. While I read some mixed reviews about the line in general on different sites like extensions.com, beauty.com and ulta.com, I saw on Amazon that the clip-in bangs actually had pretty decent reviews. While they retail for $24.99 at most salons, Amazon sells them for $14.95 with free shipping. So, for $15 I figured I’d take a chance. All I wanted was for the clip-in to give me an idea of whether or not I wanted to cut real bangs.
Here’s the Amazon link if you wanna check it out:
Hairdo Clip-In Bangs by Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves – R6
The Hairdo line of extensions comes in a variety of shades, especially if you’re a brunette. The Amazon link doesn’t have the best swatches of the shades, but if you visit http://www.hairuwear.com/hairdo/collections/hair-pieces/bangs you can click on the link underneath the model that says “available colors” and see the color options much more clearly. I decided to go with Midnight Brown for my dark brown hair. It was definitely a perfect match.
There are three clips on these bangs and they are so simple to clip in. I advise to first tease the area of hair where you are going to snap the clip in. Teasing helps keep the clip in place more securely, especially if your hair is fine like mine. Position the bangs where you’d like and snap the clips in place. Done.
While the clip-in worked perfectly for what I was going for, they’re not fantastic. Because the hair is synthetic, it does have that certain sheen to it that isn’t the most fabulous. This is most noticeable up close, because I don’t feel that the sheen comes across in the photos I’m showing you. Although I do think it counts for something when I put these on and my own mother thought that I had actually cut real bangs.
After wearing the Hairdo clip-in, I still can’t decide whether or not I want to cut bangs! Hah. It’s totally not unlike me, I’m pretty indecisive when it comes to changing my appearance. I’ll keep rockin’ my plain jane look for now and grab for the clip-in when I want to switch it up. It’s believable looking enough to go out and have fun with. When I decide to take the plunge, I’ll be sure to post the finished product.
I absolutely recommend that if you are unsure if you want to cut bangs, try these first. For $15, you don’t have much to lose. If you do try the Hairdo Clip-In Bangs, please let me know what you think of them! I think you look lovely no matter what you do with your hair. <3
Also, I’m in love with ModCloth.com! Check out my cool shades and literally the most amazing bracelet I’ve owned in my entire life in the following pics, both from ModCloth.com. I’ll link ’em below.
In love with my shades from ModCloth.com! They’re called Jam Out and About Sunglasses. They’re only $11.99, too!
